Weighing in at no more than three pounds and less than 8 inches tall at the shoulder, Little Deer Lttle Deer is a fictional character from , portrayed by actress Michelle Thrush. History
Little Deer was one of Duncan MacLeod's greatest loves. She was a Sioux Native American who lived with her son, Kahani, in a Sioux tribe.
Fawn, a 1-year-old Chihuahua and her owner Gloria Courtial won the smallest dog contest.

The contest was one of several held at the Man's Best Friend Contest during the Alpo Canine canine

``This is neat,'' Courtial said. ``I never thought I'd win.''

Courtial, 65 of Lancaster, came to the competition along with a group of seniors as part of an outing arranged by the activities director of the apartment complex where she resides.

``This (Little Deer Fawn) is the doll of the whole building,'' said Betty Newcom, Courtial's neighbor. ``We talked her into entering.''

The Man's Best Friend Competition was new to the annual event that has taken place in Lancaster for five years. Other contests included best dressed couple, look-alikes, tallest and most entertaining.

``This is good,'' said Kelly Rody, a recreation leader. ``It gets people involved with their dogs and brings a lot of people to the parks.''

Olivia Hirschbuehler, 13, of Lancaster won the look-alikes competition with her 8-month-old mixed-breed named Ginger ginger, common name for members of the Zingiberaceae, a family of tropical and subtropical perennial herbs, chiefly of Indomalaysia. The competition was held before the Canine Frisbee Disc Championships, where 14 dogs and the owners demonstrated tricks and flying disc catching.

``My dog has a great time doing this,'' said Sung Hyun, 31, of Torrance, who performed along with Crash, his 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier American Staffordshire terrier
