September 7, 1974: Cartoon character Hong Kong Phooey Hong Kong Phooey is a 16-episode (31 shorts) Hanna-Barbera animated series that first aired on ABC Saturday morning from September 7, 1974 to September 4, 1976. The star, Hong Kong Phooey, is the secret alter ego of Penrod Pooch, or Penry  made his debut on American television.

September 8, 2000: Baywatch star Pamela Anderson won a span sculpting competition in Seattle without even knowing it - the piece was called Spamela Anderson.

September 9, 2001: Bob the Builder <noinclude></noinclude> <noinclude></noinclude> Bob the Builder is a children's television character created by Keith Chapman. Bob appears as a construction contractor in a stop motion animated programme with his colleague Wendy, various neighbours  scored his second No 1 single with his version of the hit Mambo Number 5.
