The Opera Babes The Opera Babes are a classical music group consisting of Karen England (born 1972, although a year of 1974 is frequently quoted), Mezzo Soprano, and Rebecca Knight (born 1970), Soprano. England studied at Leeds University and London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. , sopranos Karen England and Rebecca Knight, have already become a household name with their style of performing. Not everyone loves them but they've also been credited with taking opera to a wider audience.

The emphasis will be on Christmas next Wednesday when they appear at a festive concert at Birmingham Symphony Hall in aid of Cancer Research UK.

It promises to be a big night for the Stratford-based Orchestra of the Swan conducted by David Curtis which will be accompanying them, along with the City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Chorus The City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Chorus (CBSYC) in Birmingham, England is a youth choir which performs alone, or in association with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO). .

David, who is artistic director of the Swan,says: "We're delighted to be joined by Opera Babes and their enchanting world for this special performance that promises to be full of Christmas magic."
