WORK by artists from the Rugby area, collected by Rugby Borough Council over the past 20 years, is on show at the town's art gallery in Little Eborow Street. There are 45 paintings, including work by artists John Lines, Cynthia Chandler and Roy Foster. Recent purchases include an abstract piece by Arthur Burgess and ceramics from Carol Wheeler and Bridget Aldridge. The exhibition is on until Sunday, April 7. ARTIST John Devane is holding an exhibition of paintings and prints at the Lanchester Gallery, Coventry University, called Good and Bad Government. John Devane, a principal lecturer at Coventry School of Art and Design, said: "My recent pictures are essentially cityscapes damaged by the ravages rav·age v. rav·aged, rav·ag·ing, rav·ages v.tr. 1.
