ELECTRIC fiddle maestro Joe O'Donnell Joseph (Joe) Roger O'Donnell (May 7, 1922 – August 9, 2007) was an American documentary photographer, photojournalist and a photographer for the United States Information Agency.  and his band Shkayla headline tomorrow's Celtic Strands concert as part of the Coventry Irish Festival.

The home crowd occasion is an excellent opportunity for the band to release its new single, a remastered version of P is for Paddy which proved a hit with reviewers and radio stations when it first appeared on last year's Celtic Cargo album.

Limerick-born Joe made his mark on the Irish and UK music scene in the 1970s with Rory Gallagher and Terry Woods For the Emmerdale character, see .

Terry Woods (born 4 December 1947 in Dublin), is an Irish folk musician, specialising in playing the mandolin and cittern. He is known for his membership in such folk and folk-rock groups as The Pogues, Steeleye Span, Sweeney's Men and,

Now based in Coventry, Joe's band Shkayla takes its name from the Gaelic word for stories, and performs rock arrangements of traditional songs and tunes from Ireland, Scotland and Brittany.

He says: "Paddy is one of the few songs that I don't play fiddle on, but the band has put together a strong arrangement and it always gets a great response when we play it live.' Tomorrow's concert starts at 7.30pm in the Central Methodist Hall, in Warwick Lane, and also features Coventry Comholtas, Celtica School of Irish Dance and Cork poets Paul Casey and Billy Ramsell.

Tickets cost pounds 6, or pounds 5 in advance, from the Coventry Irish Society on 024 7625 6629.

n ACE songwriter George Papavgeris and the multi-talented Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer share the bill in Coventry next week.

George draws on his Greek heritage and his profound love of the English tradition to deliver his passionate tales of ordinary heroes.

Vicki and Jonny are best-known for their instrumental skills with Scottish smallpipes, accordion and even Swedish nyckelharpa, but are also acclaimed for their interpretations of traditional and contemporary songs.

They are all appearing at the Maudslay Thursday club in Allesley Old Road. Details and tickets are available on 07535 130975.
