will bring their amazing - and amusing - slam dunk and basketball-handling prowess Monday in a benefit for the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The Globetrotters, celebrating their 75th anniversary this year, will dribble into the Valencia High School gym at 7 p.m. Monday and perform their usual hi-jinks to their signature song, ``Sweet Georgia Brown Georgia Brown may refer to:

``They're just so funny, you just laugh the whole time,'' said Special Olympics spokesperson Jackie Hartman. ``They perform tricks that you don't normally see on the basketball court, and really show people how to enjoy the game of basketball.''

After performing to a packed house for the same cause last year, the Globetrotters expressed interest in returning to Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, , Hartman said.

Valencia High School offers its gym for the event, and shares the proceeds with the Special Olympics. Gary Spindt, coach of the boys' team, is also a Special Olympics coach, Hartman said.

The evening will begin with the national anthem performed by the Activities for Retarded Children (ARC) bell choir, and a parade of Special Olympics athletes will take place during half time.

``We want people to become aware of what Special Olympics is and how important it is to this valley,'' Hartman said.

After the show, the Globetrotters will sign autographs and mingle with fans, Hartman said.

Tickets to the performance are $22 for adults and $18 for seniors and children under 13, and can be purchased at the following locations: Astro Awards, 21515 Soledad Canyon Soledad Canyon is a long narrow canyon / valley located in Los Angeles County, California between the cities of Palmdale and Santa Clarita.
