GLENDALE RESIDENT ATTACKED; POLICE SEEK HELP FINDING SUSPECTS.

The suspects - identified as Emilio Galvez, 18, of Glendale and Rene Galvez, 20, of San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  - were named by the victim, who is in critical condition with life-threatening wounds at an unnamed hospital, police said.

The victim, a 36-year-old Glendale resident also from El Salvador, was found by police lying on the ground by a public telephone and bleeding from multiple wounds at the 400 block of south Glendale Avenue.

Police believe the victim made a 911 emergency call at 2:16 a.m. The call came in as an open call with dispatchers unable to hear anyone on the line.

``It's lucky that when he called we were not that busy and were able to respond within two minutes,'' Meredith said. ``Normally, if we are busy, this type of call would be a secondary priority to a known emergency.''

Police investigating the case said the crime took place at the 500 block of East Elk Street, within a block of where the victim was found. The motive for the attack is unknown.

The suspects are considered dangerous and anybody with information on the case was urged to call Crime Stoppers stoppers
