Marilyne Wiechmann, president of the Glendale Rose Float Association, said she is happy with the compromise. Wiechmann led the effort to deep-six the basset hound against the wishes of her own board of directors. She felt strongly that the ``party animal'' theme was inappropriate for Glendale. ``There are a lot of people in the community who felt the same way,'' said Wiechmann, relieved that the council weighed in. ``I'm happy it's over.
