GKV breaks ground on new luxury residential project.

GKV Architects announced the ground breaking of a new luxury residential construction project, 10 Chelsea, which will be situated in the heart of Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood.

Developed by Boymelgreen, 10 Chelsea is scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2009. The new 113,000 s/f tower will feature innovative design elements, along with 107 residential units, ranging in size from studios to three bedrooms. Located adjacent to the recently-designated Hi-Line City Park, the building's unique amenities include a rooftop terrace and a secure, state-of-them lobby with a concierge.

All of the contemporary apartments will showcase stunning interior design components, including full, modern kitchens and bathrooms. For added convenience, laundry facilities will also be located on the premises. The hightech lobby's glass ornamental pendant lighting, hardwood wall panels, and loft-style ceiling with exposed ductwork will complement the modern themes throughout. The building's fitness center will be outfitted with state of the art exercise equipment. The light-filled space will open onto a large outdoor terrace directly adjacent to the High Line. This terrace will be accessible by all building residents.

In addition, one of 10 Chelsea's most, inventive structural details will be the exterior use of ornamental cast-in-place concrete. This minimalist approach will produce a practical but imaginative layer to the tower's facade.
