Mosser's career, Malibu High's girls' tennis team didn't capture a league title.

That gave Mosser even more incentive to cap her final league tournament with a singles crown.

``This means more (than last year) because it was better competition,'' said Mosser, who handled the transition to the stronger Tri-Valley League with relative ease, winning all 30 sets against league opponents to improve to 49-2 on the season.

``I had played Rachel twice before, so I kind of knew how she played. She takes my serve on the rise and comes in and stands right on the line and doesn't back down.''

Pan, who knocked off second-seeded Lexi White of Villanova Prep of Ojai 7-6, 6-0 to reach the final, continued a legacy started by her sister, Jennifer, who won two Tri-Valley singles titles and a doubles crown in her four-year career.

After a slow start, Mosser began to build momentum late in the first set before dominating the second.

``It was more of a mental thing,'' said Mosser, who defeated Villanova Prep's Katrina Pierson 6-0, 6-1 and La Reina La Reina (Spanish: "The queen") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. Mosser, Pan and both Villanova Prep doubles finalists will compete in the Southern Section regionals Nov. 18 at Agoura or Oak Park.
