There were 230 teams and excellent competition, and the San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. Upon returning from Cal San Diego on Sunday night Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, was an NBC late-night television show which aired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists.  after the four-day tournament, considered the most intense summer competition at least in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, , Hart coach Dave Munroe raved about the experience.

``When you travel like this, being away is a bonding period,'' Munroe said. ``The girls had a good time and it made our team better. I lived in the gym, the girls went to the mall and the movies. We'll definitely do it again next year.''

Munroe, who won two of five games, will return to San Diego again next year partly because of the opportunity to bond, but also because of competition. The Indians INDIANS. The aborigines of this country are so called.

Hart's typical opponent at the tournament was Oakland High, whose players wore warm-up warm-up

``It's like a track meet. . . . They like to blow by you and dish,'' Munroe said of Oakland, which beat Hart 44-39. ``We did a great job of slowing down their offense. We got back on defense and didn't let them penetrate; we made them shoot outside.''

Familar face: Tiana Jameson sat on Hart's bench in street clothes for three of its five games. She was not in a Hart uniform because she moved to San Diego this summer and is now playing for Point Loma Point Loma is a neighborhood of San Diego, California. Incoming talent: Hart, Canyon and Burroughs are set for the next four years at point guard, barring injury or a family move.

Amanda Patton is the Indians' leading scorer this summer. Most recently, she had 20 points in Hart's 49-45 loss to Ganesha in the San Diego tournament.

Canyon coach Paul Broneer received a nice surprise when he took a phone call about Erica Doyle, who played on the same travel team as Patton. Saugus JV coach Ken Euken, who also coached the travel team, was inquiring inquiring,

``I looked at my list and she hadn't,'' Broneer recalled. ``He said `Are you kidding? I know she's going to Canyon.'

``Maybe she didn't even know we had one, so he called her and told her to get into the summer program. She showed up and the first night, she took over.''

Broneer put her with the freshman team for her first game. She scored 28 of the team's 35 points. He immediately moved her to JV, where she scored 12 points per game and led the team to a 6-0 record. Now she is on varsity and Broneer said she ``hasn't missed a beat.''

Shaina Zaidi at Burroughs will add to the great point guard matchups (along with Valencia's Valerie Pina, a junior) this year and in the seasons to come.
