Flintridge Prep cut an 11-point second-half deficit to 32-27 with 3:28 remaining in the third quarter on a 3-pointer by Jordan Toyama.

The Rebels remained within single digits until the final seconds of the third quarter, when Cori Williams converted a four-point play to put Laguna Hills ahead 41-29.

The play sparked an 8-0 run for the Hawks, who won their first Southern Section title since 2000.

us a bit," Flintridge Prep coach Kenny Fisher said. "We were doing a good job of keeping ourselves in the game at that point, and it put us right back in the hole. Laguna Hills put us away after that."

Courtney Robinson had a team-high 17 points for the Rebels, while Toyama added 13. The Flintridge Prep guards combined to make seven 3-pointers, but they also accounted for 12 of the team's 17 turnovers.

Laguna Hills committed just 11 turnovers, while shooting 37 percent from the field.

Flintridge Prep made 27 percent of its field goal attempts.

"It hurts to see this season end this way," Fisher said. "We thought we were good enough to win this one. It's been a great run, though. There's no reason for us to hang our heads."
