girls' soccer team this season could easily be described as dominant.

The Knights outscored their opponents 144-9during the regular season and 32-0 in the Southern Section Div. VI playoffs heading into Saturday's championship game against Ontario Christian at Downey High.

So, being scoreless at halftime was a bit of unfamilar territory for Desert Christian. But both teams scored in the second half and played to a 1-1 tie.

Estrada had two early chances to break the scoreless tie to start the second half, but both her shots missed high right. Carleigh Hobson then kicked the ball into the back of the net to give Desert Christian (23-1-2) a 1-0 lead.

"I was worried about kicking it over the net," Hobson said. "But, I didn't. I just got a perfect pass from Jessica was able to score."

"Tying might not be as satisfying as winning the game," Hobson said. "But I know when I look back we will still be champions."
