GIRL, 14, RAPED AT BUS STATION; Scar-faced beast hunted after teenager's ordeal.

A SCAR-FACED workman who dragged a 14-year-old schoolgirl from a busy bus station and raped her in broad daylight was being hunted last night.

The girl was waiting inside Glasgow's Buchanan Bus Station on Friday evening with a male friend when the attacker and his pal approached them.

The rapist, who has a scar on his right cheek and blond hair, forced the girl into undergrowth and raped her while his accomplice accomplice: see accessory.  distracted her friend.

He only stopped the attack when a passer-by disturbed him and his terrified ter·ri·fy

The traumatised girl told her friend, who was unaware of what had been happening, and he phoned the police. But both men had fled.

Police said the rapist was in his late teens, dressed in distinctive construction work clothing and looked as though he had been on a building site.

Appealed He was wearing a red Berghaus jacket with a white hooded top and blue horizontal stripes underneath, blue jogging bottoms and tan rigger boots.

His sallow-faced accomplice was wearing a black tammy hat, blue denims and white trainers, and looked slightly older.

Both men were around 5ft 10in.

Detective Inspector Douglas Weir, who is leading the investigation, appealed for the rapist's friend to give himself up. He said: "We would like to hear his side of the story. He may have been an unwitting accomplice.

"This was a particularly horrifying ordeal for a teenage girl.

"She wasn't visiting the city centre but passing through the bus station with her friend on her way home.

"The bus station was very busy and we would appeal to anyone who saw the two men to come forward."

The victim, who lives on the outskirts of Glasgow, is said to be deeply traumatised by the attack which happened at around 8.45pm at the station's Cowcaddens Road entrance.
