GIFA, Metec, Thermprocess, Newcast trade fairs return to Dusseldorf fairgrounds.

The GIFA trade fair, running concurrently with Metec, Thermprocess and Newcast, will be held June 12-16, 2007, to unveil the latest developments in metalcasting equipment and supplies.

The four fairs return to the Dusseldorf, Germany, fairgrounds for the first time since 2003, individually covering four areas of the industry: metalcasting, metallurgical, thermoprocess and finished casting technology.

Four years ago, GIFA welcomed 793 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors from 35 countries to the fair. According to a press release, organizers expect about 800 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors from around the world in 2007.

Exhibit categories at GIFA will include metalcasting machinery and plant construction, casting machinery and equipment, melting processes, and molding and coremaking.

The fair also will include the World Foundrymen Organization Technical Forum, which is organized by the German Foundrymen's Association and included in the cost of GIFA.

GIFA attracted significant international participation in 2003--48% of visitors and 55% of exhibitors came from outside of Germany. Organizers believe that international appeal for the four technology forums will be even greater this time around.

"The market that spans all four technology trade fairs is very global," said Friedrich-Georg Kehrer, project director. "With our strong international focus, we reflect the market and are thus the ideal platform for a global exchange."

As of February 2007, about half of the exhibitors at the four fairs are from countries other than Germany.
