The rain finally stopped long enough for the Dodgers and San Francisco Giants The San Francisco Giants are a Major League Baseball team based in San Francisco, California that currently play in the National League West Division. New York Giants history

The Giants ended a long, wet day with a 2-1 victory, scoring the winning run in the top of the ninth inning when Ray Durham's sacrifice fly to right field scored Omar Vizquel Omar Enrique Vizquel (born April 24, 1967 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Major League Baseball shortstop playing for the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers managed just five hits and one run over eight innings off Giants starter Jamey Wright, who picked up his second victory of the season.

, he can do some damage," Giants manager Felipe Alou said. "We expected that, hoped for it. We've seen it twice."

The Dodgers helped him along by stranding seven runners in scoring position, including two in the first inning.

"I think a lot of it was dictated by the first when we got the first two hitters on right away and we weren't able to come up with anything," Dodgers manager Grady Little said. "I think that set the tone for the rest of the game."

Dodger starter Brad Penny was strong through six innings, giving up just one run on two hits with four strikeouts.

But he was forced out of the game after the sixth inning with a bruised right arm, the result of getting clipped on a comebacker off the bat of Steve Finley.

Penny said he expects to make his next start Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs.

"It's fine, it just stiffened up a little bit," Penny said. "It didn't hit me that hard, it just hit me in the right spot."

Of course, on this night even the most heated West Coast baseball rivalry was secondary to an image baseball fans might want to get used to this year: The circus that is Barry Bonds.

As expected, Bonds' every move was met with a steady chorus of boos and catcalls cat·call

Bonds was a target every time his name was announced as he strolled to the plate to bat, and each time he ran on or off the field.

The fans even let him have it after Dodgers second baseman Jeff Kent tied the score at 1-1 with a solo home run to deep center field in the sixth inning.
