GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP 8. (Internet Focus).GFI GFI Ground Fault Interrupter GFI Go For It GFI Government-Furnished Information GFI Growing Families International GFI Goodness of Fit Indices GFI Government Financial Institutions (Philippines) GFI Gross Farm Income have launched GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP 8, an upgrade to GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP 7. GFI MailEssentials is a server-based anti-spare solution that is installed at the gateway and reduces the administrative headache presented by client-based anti-spare products. System administrators need not deploy anti-spare products on each of the network's individual workstations, nor conduct maintenance of individual updates each time anti-spam roles need changing. Another advantage that a server-based product like GFI MailEssentials 8 has over client-based applications is that it can protect the mail server's message stores from clogging up with spam. GFI MailEssentials 8 includes several advanced anti-spam components that detect typical spam practices, such as incorrect "From' headers with nonexistent non·ex·is·tence n. 1. The condition of not existing. 2. Something that does not exist. non domains. Also, it allows administrators to configure lists of keywords and phrases enabling it to identify spam. GFI MailEssentials 8 also adds support for Microsoft Active Directory; whitelist auto-population; the ability to block spare by character set; binding to IIS (Internet Information Services) Microsoft's Web server. IIS runs under the server versions of Windows, adding HTTP server capability to the Windows operating system. Virtual SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) The standard e-mail protocol on the Internet and part of the TCP/IP protocol suite, as defined by IETF RFC 2821. SMTP defines the message format and the message transfer agent (MTA), which stores and forwards the mail. Servers; support for multiple DNS (Domain Name System) A system for converting host names and domain names into IP addresses on the Internet or on local networks that use the TCP/IP protocol. For example, when a Web site address is given to the DNS either by typing a URL in a browser or behind the blacklists and fake non-delivery reports generation. Also it is designed to integrate with industry-wide watchdog and identification groups, the `DNS Blacklists' such as ORDB ORDB Open Relay Database ORDB Object Relational Database ORDB Object Relational Data Base ORDB Open Relay Data Base ORDB Operator Reference Data Base and Spamhaus that identify domains that are spammers or are insufficiently secure and are exploited by spammers. The solution also includes a patented automatic whitelist management tool which enables business partners to be automatically added to a whitelist in order that their mail will not be passed through the spare filter, reducing false positives. Other Features include: Fake non-delivery reports (NDRS NDRS National Distress and Response System NDRS New Delhi Railway Station ) Spammers often send volume emails to valid email, address that they sell or trade with each other. GFI MailEssentials 8 bounces spam back to the sender with a false non-delivery report. The NDR NDR Norddeutscher Rundfunk NDR non-delivery report (email) NDR Network Data Representation NDR National Driver Register NDR Non-Delivery Receipt (email) NDR Negative Differential Resistance leads them to believe that the user's address is invalid, and gets that organization's addresses off the spam list. Foreign language spare Many spare mails are in a foreign language, meaning that administrators can greatly reduce spam simply by blocking mail written in, say, Japanese. Using the GFI MailEssentials language detection feature, companies can block mail using certain character sets. Expanded disclaimer/footer text With GFI MailEssentials, organizations can add a legal disclaimer andlor a standard corporate message to each outgoing email at any of several levels. Disclaimers can be configured for individual users, groups or an entire domain. www.gfi.com |
