GET OUT YOUR SHOVELS, MORE MAY BE COMING 'DECENT DUMPING' OF SNOW FORECAST.

Byline: Daily News

PALMDALE - More snow may be coming this weekend to the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The National Weather Service has predicted a 30 percent chance of rain and snow Friday night and Saturday in the Antelope Valley from a cold storm approaching Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, .

Although the storm's trajectory might limit the amount of moisture it carries, the snow level could fall to as low as 2,000 to 2,500 feet - similar to last weekend's storm, the Weather Service said.

The Weather Service said the jetstream is oriented to bring ``a decent dumping'' of snow to north-facing Southern California mountain slopes, such as at the Mountain High ski resort near Wrightwood that got nearly two feet of snow last weekend.

Last weekend's storm brought up to three inches of snow to Palmdale and tied up traffic overnight Saturday and early Sunday on the Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley. . Snow and ice also closed Interstate 5 near Gorman for hours.
