GET IT COVERED; Biz Bureau.
HOT on the heels of Prime Minister Gordon Brown's pledge to save Post Offices and turn them into the people's bank, the Post Office has launched a new insurance for small businesses.
They say it will For offer suitable cover for 95% of small businesses from plumbers and dog beauticians to carpenters and florists.
The insurance can be tailored to meet the needs of businesses of all shapes and sizes and can include protection against fire and theft, employee and public liability, professional indemnity, tool/equipment and business interruption for, say, machinery breakdown.
You can get help identifying what insurance your business needs by law and what extra cover might be useful from insurance experts by calling 0800 138 8276 or call into your local Post Office.
In the current climate some small businesses may be tempted to do without insurance. But it's essential, especially as figures from the Association of British Insurers show 80% of companies that suffer a major incident or loss fail within 18 months as a result of having inadequate insurance.
