 GERMAN TRAINS TO ACCEPT VISA
 SAN FRANCISCO, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Germany's two railway

companies, Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) and Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR), will begin accepting Visa in June, marking the first time a payment card has been accepted for rail travel in that country, Visa International announced today.
Beginning June 1, 1992, travelers can use their Visa cards to buy train tickets at 155 major railway stations in Germany and at travel agencies where train tickets are sold. Visa expects the number of railway stations accepting Visa to increase within the next few months.
"Visa is currently the only card accepted by any German railway company," said Bruno Richter, general manger for Visa in Germany. "This represents a major competitive advantage in a country such as Germany where railways play a dominant role in public and private transportation."
The acceptance by Visa in German railways is the latest development in Visa's recent expansion in Germany. During the past two years, Visa has opened an office in Frankfurt and added several important member financial institutions.
With more than 281 million cards issued and almost 10 million acceptance locations, including 170,000 in Germany, Visa is the world's largest consumer card payment program.
