GERALDINE FERRARO JOINS QUESTECH BOARD OF DIRECTORS

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Vincent L. Salvatori, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of QuesTech, Inc. (NASDAQ: QTEC), announced that on Oct. 22, 1993, QuesTech's board of directors appointed former Rep. Geraldine A. Ferraro (D-N.Y.) a director of the company to fill a vacancy on the board. The addition of Ferraro brings the number of QuesTech directors to five, of which three are outside directors.
In making this announcement, Salvatori stated: "The action by the board in appointing Ferraro reflects our confidence in QuesTech's future and the board's commitment to improving shareholder value by attracting directors with the highest qualifications. Ferraro will prove an asset to the company because of her first-hand knowledge of how the government operates, which she acquired over her three terms in the House of Representatives. In addition, Ferraro's international experience will assist the board in directing the company in these years of DoD transitioning."
Ferraro was first elected to Congress from New York's Ninth Congressional District in Queens in 1978 and served three terms in the House of Representatives. She then was a vice presidential candidate for the Democratic Party in 1984. She has just been appointed by President Clinton as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Commission. Ferraro also serves on the board of directors of New York Bancorp, the Fordham Law School Board of Visitors and the New York Easter Seals Society. Ferraro is the partner-in-charge of Keck, Mahin & Cate's New York office.
Ferraro joins two other outside directors of QuesTech, Inc.: Sebastian P. Musco, chairman of Gemini Industries, Santa Ana, Calif., and Dr. Robert B. Costello, former under secretary of defense for procurement in the Reagan administration. Musco has served as a director of QuesTech since its founding in 1968. Costello was elected to serve on the board in 1991.
QuesTech is a diversified professional services company specializing in defense intelligence, industrial products and communications services.
