GENEVA STEEL ANNOUNCES PRICE INCREASES

 VINEYARD, Utah, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Geneva Steel (NYSE: GNV) announced today that it intends to raise transaction prices on its flat- rolled steel sheet and plate products effective immediately.
 Transaction prices for carbon and high-strength low alloy plates are scheduled to be increased by $10 per ton. Hot-rolled sheet and band prices will be increased by $20 per ton. Strip mill plate prices will be increased by $20 per ton. The company also intends to collect its temper-rolled charges.
 Geneva intends to honor prior price agreements. Notwithstanding the announced price increases, the company will continue to meet competitive prices as market forces require.
 Geneva Steel is the only integrated steel mill operating west of the Mississippi River. The company manufactures hot-rolled steel sheet, plate and pipe for sale primarily in the western and central United States.
