GENEROUS ELKS LANCASTER TEENAGERS AWARDED MONEY FOR COLLEGE.Byline: Daily News LANCASTER - Five Lancaster teenagers have been awarded a total of $5,000 in scholarships by the Lancaster Elks Lodge 1625, the Inland District, Elks State Association and Elks National Foundation. The students were judged on financial need, community involvement, leadership and scholarship. The Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, will award more than $4 million in scholarships this year to 500 high school seniors through its 2003 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest. In the national scholarship program, the top male and female will receive scholarships of $7,500 per year for four years. The second- and third-place males and females will receive $3,000 and $2,000 a year, respectively, for four years. An additional 494 scholarships of $1,000 a year for four years will also be awarded.
