GENERATIONS OF PATIENTS FETE DOCTOR ON RETIREMENT.Byline: STACY BROWN Dr. John Fricker's eyes widened as he looked up and saw Kendall Leigh, one of his first patients. The reaction was similar when Lisa Johnstone and Judy Cowlishaw arrived as well. Fricker, a pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente Kaiser Permanente is an integrated managed care organization, based in Oakland, California, founded in 1945 by industrialist Henry J. Kaiser and physician Sidney R. Garfield. Hospital in Woodland Hills for 31 years, is retiring at the end of the month and the hospital threw a bash recently to celebrate his years of service. With a trip overseas waiting and many people to say goodbye to, Fricker warmly recalled the years gone by. Born and raised in Detroit, Fricker moved to Northridge 32 years ago. Prior to his move to California, he attended Case Western medical school in Cleveland and Yale University Yale University, at New Haven, Conn.; coeducational. Chartered as a collegiate school for men in 1701 largely as a result of the efforts of James Pierpont, it opened at Killingworth (now Clinton) in 1702, moved (1707) to Saybrook (now Old Saybrook), and in 1716 was in New Haven New Haven, city (1990 pop. 130,474), New Haven co., S Conn., a port of entry where the Quinnipiac and other small rivers enter Long Island Sound; inc. 1784. Firearms and ammunition, clocks and watches, tools, rubber and paper products, and textiles are among the many , Conn., where he earned his residency. He joined Kaiser in 1965 and later became the Woodland Hills office first president of the medical board in 1986. ``It all began for me at the Panorama City Kaiser,'' he said during the party Monday, ``I came here before they built this place. He said students have been collecting names of families who may be in need of goods for the holidays.
