 GENERAL RE REPORTS BOARD ACTIONS
 STAMFORD, Conn., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- General Re Corporation


(NYSE: GRN) today announced that its board of directors voted to continue the corporation's stock repurchase plan.
 The board authorized a program to repurchase up to $250,000,000 of its common stock. This authorization is in addition to the ongoing authorization to purchase shares to meet the requirements of various employee benefits and compensation plans. Purchases will be made, from time to time, depending on market conditions.
 The board also declared a regular quarterly dividend of $.45 per share on the common stock of the corporation payable on June 30, 1992, to stockholders of record June 22, 1992.
