GENERAL MOTORS TO PRESENT $100,000 CHECK TO CASE WESTERN

CLEVELAND, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its five-year, $500,000 commitment to Case Western Reserve University, officials of General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM) will present school officials with a GM Foundation check for $100,000.
In a 1 p.m. ceremony Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Case Western, the GM contribution will be presented to the university's president, Dr. Agnar Pytte, by Richard G. LeFauve, president of Saturn Corporation, the Spring Hill, Tennessee-based subsidiary of GM. Mr. LeFauve also serves as the automaker's key executive liaison to the institution.
"The $100,000 represents the third annual installment of GM's $500,000 commitment to Case Western's College of Engineering, which includes funding for an instrumentation and signal analysis laboratory, expansion of the GM Engines laboratory, cooperative research efforts for interdisciplinary problem solving by senior engineering students and funding for the Minority Scholars Program to increase the recruitment and retention of minority engineering students," noted LeFauve.
"Combined with prior GM assistance to Case Western during the past 13 years, this installment will increase GM contributions to over $1,300,000. The primary focus over this period has been with projects in the College of Engineering," LeFauve explained.
