GENERAL MILLS ANNOUNCES GAILLARD ELECTED VICE CHAIRMAN; O'HARA AND MAGRUDER ELECTED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENTS

 MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The General Mills (NYSE: GIS) Board of Directors today elected Charles W. Gaillard as a vice chairman of General Mills and a member of the board. As announced earlier, Gaillard is returning from serving as CEO of Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW) to assume top management responsibility, effective Jan. 1, 1994, for Big G, Yoplait and Consumer Foods Sales, which also encompasses the Foodservice and Information Systems Divisions. CPW is General Mills' international cereal marketing joint venture with Nestli, S.A.
 The board also elected Jeff O'Hara, president, Red Lobster, and Ron Magruder, president, The Olive Garden, to be executive vice presidents of General Mills. Previously, both O'Hara and Magruder had been senior vice presidents.
