GENE ELLERBEE NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF SCANNER APPLICATIONS

 CINCINNATI, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Scanner Applications, a leading trade marketing service bureau for packaged goods manufacturers and grocery retailers, today announced that Gene Ellerbee has been named Executive Vice President. Mr. Ellerbee formerly was with The Procter & Gamble Company where he held numerous positions.
 Commenting on the news, Scanner Applications Founder and CEO Robert W. Gibson said: "We're delighted to have someone of Gene's caliber and experience on board. Gene's 30 years of service at P&G and extensive knowledge of the retail community will be tremendous assets for us."
 Mr. Ellerbee will manage the Company's Western Region as well as have key national account responsibility. While at P&G, Mr. Ellerbee held several senior positions including National Sales and Marketing Manager, Manager Sales Operations Worldwide and Vice President Customer Development.
 In addition to his career activities, Mr. Ellerbee serves on the boards of directors for Teen Challenge, Citizens Concerned for Community Values, the National Coalition Against Pornography, and is Executive Vice President of Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship. He is also listed in "Who's Who in U.S. Executives".
 A native of San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Ellerbee attended Texas A&M University and the University of Colorado where he was a varsity football player and heavyweight boxer. He and his wife now reside in Newport Beach, California.
 Scanner Applications, headquartered in Cincinnati, is a promotion service bureau for packaged goods manufacturers and grocery retailers. Founded in 1988, the Company's program, Scanner Promote, offers an electronic alternative to traditional forms of trade and consumer promotions, principally Free Standing Inserts (FSIs).
