). The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity firm fixed-price contract has a base contract period of two years plus three one-year options and is valued at $23.6 million. GIS will commence work on August 1, 2005.

DDCN provides logistics support to military units at installations located in the southeastern U.S. The primary mission of DDCN is to support the 2nd Marine Air Wing, the Marine Corps Air Station (largest in the world) and the Naval Air Systems Command's Naval Aviation Naval aviation is the application of manned military air power by navies. Maritime aviation is the operation of aircraft in a maritime role under the command of land based forces such as RAF Coastal Command or United States Coast Guard.  Depot, Cherry Point, NC.

Under the contract, GIS will perform all receipt, storage, issue and transportation services for DDCN, while its small business subcontractor, Akima Management Services, will perform packaging, packing, preservation and marking services.
