GENCO Awarded ID/IQ Contract to Provide Logistics Support to the U.S. Army's Field and Installation Readiness Support Team (FIRST).

 International Inc. (CACI) of Arlington, Va., has been awarded the FIRST contract by the Department of the Army, Southern Region Contracting Command - East. FIRST is a multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity Noun 1. indefinite quantity - an estimated quantity

) contract to provide logistics support to the U.S. Army. The contract has a base period of five years with a ceiling value of $9 billion and two one-year options. The CACI team is comprised of 42 companies covering the full range of capabilities required by U.S. Army's war fighters.

FIRST succeeds the Logistics Joint Administrative Management Support Services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  (LOGJAMSS LOGJAMSS Logistics Joint Administrative Management Support Services ) contract that expired more than two years ago. The FIRST program was developed to provide innovative and responsive logistics support to meet the evolving mission needs of U.S. Army war fighters. ), with operations across the U.S. Other U.S. Army and DoD agencies will be permitted to utilize FIRST to compete and award orders on an as-approved basis. Under FIRST, GIS will provide a full range of supply chain management services, including distribution and supply support, Army-wide logistics programs and development support and logistical enterprise management systems support.
