"Donna could hardly believe she was our eight millionth policyholder when I called to tell her the news," said Cunningham. "When we met, she was very appreciative and excited to be a GEICO customer."

Bador said, "I was really surprised when I found out I was GEICO's 8 millionth policyholder. I just moved to New Jersey from Vermont Vermont (vərmŏnt`) [Fr.,=green mountain], New England state of the NE United States. It is bordered by New Hampshire, across the Connecticut R.  and had to find a new auto insurer. I called around for quotes and it turned out that GEICO had the lowest rate and I found it to be the easiest and fastest process."

"Our thanks go out to all of our policyholders for helping GEICO reach eight million policyholders," said GEICO Chairman Tony Nicely. "All of our 23,000 associates worked hard to make this happen and I congratulate them."

Joining in the celebration were Richard Striano, the sales counselor who sold the record-breaking policy; Striano's supervisor, Robin Jessie; and Chris Jarrard, a sales director. All three associates work in GEICO's Woodbury, N.Y., office.
