GEAC COMPUTER CORPORATION LIMITED - ETOBICOKE PUBLIC LIBRARIES SELECTS ADVANCE.

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MAY 9, 1995--GEAC COMPUTER CORP. (TSE:GAC) Geac Computer Corporation Limited is pleased to announce that the Etobicoke Public Libraries (EPL) in Etobicoke, Ontario, has signed an agreement with Geac Canada Limited to upgrade its current Geac Library Information System to the ADVANCE Integrated Library System.

The EPL, the 1994 recipient of the Minister's Provincial Award for Innovation, is a leader in providing technological solutions to address customer needs. The implementation of ADVANCE will be on a Motorola PowerPC MP601 server. With over 1 million titles, 2 million items, and 4 million annual circulations, the ADVANCE Integrated Library System will enhance EPL's ability to provide the public with access to information. The EPL will also offer library customers a greater number of services, including access to electronic databases and Z39.50 compliant services on the Internet with Geac's client/server online catalog product, GeoPac.

"The ADVANCE system will enable the Etobicoke Public Libraries to meet the increasing public demand for service through our information network," said Library CEO Jennifer Milne. "We also expect that the ADVANCE System will also provide greater flexibility in offering information services to our customers."
