The General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) will hold its 2001 Annual
Meeting of Share Owners on April 25 in Atlanta, Georgia. The meeting
will be held at the Atlanta Civic Center at 10 a.m.
GE holds its Annual Meeting of Share Owners in a different
location each year where it has significant business interests.
Georgia is home to several GE businesses. GE Power Systems has its
Energy Services, Global Sales and Digital Energy operations in Atlanta
as well as a large power generation equipment service center in
Chamblee, Georgia. GE Power Systems also has announced its intention
to move its headquarters to Atlanta in 2001. GE Capital, GE Appliances
and GE Industrial Systems also have offices and facilities in Georgia.
The meeting gives share owners the opportunity to elect directors
of the company for the coming year and to vote on proposals set forth
in the proxy statement. The proxy statement will be distributed in
March 2001.
