Burners Without Borders, a non-profit organization composed of volunteers from the famous Burning Man festival, spent six months conducting disaster recovery efforts on the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast. In an area where communication infrastructure was decimated, the group used the Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router with a Kyocera Passport KPC650 PC card to create a mobile Wi-Fi hot spot from a single 1xEV-DO signal.
