GE Power Systems has received a contract with Siemens Nederland Nederland (nē`dərlənd), city (1990 pop. 16,192), Jefferson co., SE Tex.; founded by Dutch settlers as a rice-farming community in 1897, inc. 1940.  N.V. valued at approximately 48.5 million Euros to supply four MS6001B gas turbine-generators and auxiliary equipment Noun 1. auxiliary equipment - electronic equipment not in direct communication (or under the control of) the central processing unit

 to three combined-cycle facilities located in Adana, Canakkale and Mersin, Turkey.

The facilities owned and operated by Enerjisa will produce a total of approximately 240 MW.

The gas turbine-generators will be manufactured in the GE Power Systems Essen, Germany plant and are equipped to burn three fuels, natural gas, naphtha naphtha (năp`thə, năf`–), term usually restricted to a class of colorless, volatile, flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixtures.  and light distillate dis·til·late

Under the terms of the contract, the Adana plant will receive two of the four gas turbine-generators which will enter commercial operation in December of 2001. The remaining two units will be shipped to the Canakkale and Mersin plants in November of 2001 and commercial operation scheduled to begin in August of 2002.

Currently, 27 GE technology gas turbines are installed or on order for projects in Turkey, representing over 3,300 megawatts of power.
