GE Silicones Acquires Customer Lists from PolyOne Corporation's Elastomers and Performance Additives Group.

General Electric Company (GE), through its GE Silicones business unit, today announced that it has purchased the silicone rubber Noun 1. silicone rubber - made from silicone elastomers; retains flexibility resilience and tensile strength over a wide temperature range
synthetic rubber, rubber - any of various synthetic elastic materials whose properties resemble natural rubber
 custom compounding customer lists and the formulations necessary to serve those customers from PolyOne Corporation's Elastomers and Performance Additives Group.

Those customers will be serviced by American Silicones Inc. (ASI ASI,

), GE Silicones' custom elastomers business. The Elastomers and Performance Additives Group of PolyOne (formerly M.A. Hanna Rubber) operates a facility in Dyersburg, TN. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The Elastomers and Performance Additives Group is located in Dyersburg, TN. The acquired customers will be integrated with ASI, GE Silicones' current custom compounding business. GE Silicones Custom Elastomers business includes facilities in Garrett, IN; Chino Chino (chē`nō), city (1990 pop. 59,682), San Bernardino co., S Calif.; founded 1887, inc. 1910. It is the business and processing center of a diversified farming (notably dairying) area. , CA; and Waterford, NY. Tom Lapsley, President of ASI, will continue to lead the business.
