 company involved in oil and gas exploration and production worldwide, is developing a new, 120-megawatt power plant based on a gas turbine turbine, rotary engine that uses a continuous stream of fluid (gas or liquid) to turn a shaft that can drive machinery.

A water, or hydraulic, turbine is used to drive electric generators in hydroelectric power stations.

The facility is located in Ave Fenix, Argentina, near the city of Tucuman, the capital of Tucuman Province.

GE Power Systems supplied an MS9001E gas turbine from its Belfort, France manufacturing facility for the project. The baseload plant will supply electricity for Pluspetrol who will sell the power to the Argentinean wholesale market through CAMESA CAMESA Canadian Military Electronics Standards Agency (Canada) , a power distribution company. Natural gas will be the primary fuel.
