As part of a comprehensive reorganization of the General Electric Co., GE Advanced Materials Advanced Materials is a leading peer-reviewed materials science journal published every two weeks. Advanced Materials includes Communications, Reviews, and Feature Articles from the cutting edge of materials science, including topics in chemistry, physics, , created just last year, has been split up again into GE Plastics and GE Silicones/Quartz. Together, they are part of GE Industrial, one of six new business units into which GE is divided. The new president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of GE Plastics is Charlene Begley, a 17-year GE veteran and the first woman to head up the plastics business. She replaces John Krenicki, who was head of GE Advanced Materials and 2now moves to GE Energy in Atlanta Atlanta (ətlăn`tə, ăt–), city (1990 pop. 394,017), state capital and seat of Fulton co., NW Ga., on the Chattahoochee R. and Peachtree Creek, near the Appalachian foothills; inc. 1847. . Begley was most recently president and CEO of the rail unit of GE Transportation in Erie, Pa. She also previously served as director of Finance for GE Plastics-Europe.
