GE Names Three New Officers.

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2002

General Electric today announced the appointment of three company officers.

Ruben C. Berumen, 45, is President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , Power Controls B.V. at GE Industrial Systems. His previous position was President and CEO of GE Medical Systems OEC OEC Outdoor Emergency Care
OEC Oxygen Evolving Complex (photosynthesis)
OEC Ohio Environmental Council
OEC Office of Environmental Coordination (New York, NY)
OEC Oregon Employer Council
 and General Manager, Global Vascular and X-Ray. Berumen holds a master's degree in international management from the American School of International Management and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

Norman C. T. Liu, 44, is Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations for GE Capital Aviation Services, serving in this role since 1996. Liu earned a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School Harvard Business School, officially named the Harvard Business School: George F. Baker Foundation, and also known as HBS, is one of the graduate schools of Harvard University.  and a bachelor's degree in engineering and economics from Yale University.

Deborah M. Reif, 49, is Chairman, President and CEO of Financial Guaranty Insurance Company at GE Capital. She assumed this position in January 2001. Reif holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut The University of Connecticut is the State of Connecticut's land-grant university. It was founded in 1881 and serves more than 27,000 students on its six campuses, including more than 9,000 graduate students in multiple programs.

UConn's main campus is in Storrs, Connecticut.
