"The TR35 is among the most prestigious honors that can be bestowed on a young innovator," says Technology Review Editor in Chief Jason Pontin Jason Pontin (born May 11, 1967) is an editor, journalist and publisher.

Pontin is the editor in chief and publisher of Technology Review, an independent publication owned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that describes emerging technologies and

"Adam's work is of the highest caliber, and he is certainly well-deserving of this special recognition. To be named among the top 35 young innovators in the world is a quite an accomplishment."

Adam Rasheed said, "I am deeply honored to be selected to the TR35. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to grow my childhood passion for aerospace engineering into an exciting and rewarding career. Although this is a great personal recognition, this honor really is a tribute to the efforts of our entire team working towards the next evolution in aerospace propulsion."

Since joining GE Global Research in 2001, Adam has focused on propulsion and energy technologies. His most recent investigations focused on pulsed detonation engine turbine interactions with the vision of building a PDE-turbine hybrid engine where the conventional combustors are replaced with pulsed detonation combustors (PDC (1) (Primary Domain Controller) A Windows NT/2000 service that manages security for its local domain. Every domain has one PDC, which contains a database of usernames, passwords and permissions. ) in a gas turbine core. His experimental engine is the world's first multi-combustor pulsed detonation engine to drive a large-scale turbine, which is at core of today's turbofan engines. In addition, his hydrocarbon-fueled engine can operate continuously without the oxygen enrichment - a critical enabler for aircraft applications.

The complete TR35 list appears in the October 2005 issue of Technology Review magazine and on Technologyreview.com. The honorees will be recognized at the fifth annual Emerging Technologies Conference at MIT later this month.
