GE Fanuc Embedded Systems Announces New VMEbus Single Board Computers.


Combine VMEbus architecture with Intel[R] processing performance

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Once again demonstrating the company's ability to develop and deliver solutions that take advantage of key technologies in order to enable optimum platform performance, GE Fanuc Embedded Systems GE Fanuc Embedded Systems, a unit of General Electric Company, is headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico with operating locations and regional sales offices throughout the United States and around the world.  today announced the VP11 and VR11 6U VMEbus single board computers, each featuring a choice of Intel[R] dual core processors - including the Intel[R] Core[TM]2 Duo processor See Core Duo and Intel Core. . Designed to meet the requirements of markets including automation, simulation/training, telecommunications, test and measurement and others, while also providing an upgrade path for existing VP9 and VR9 customers, the VR11 is a single slot solution that can optionally be ruggedized (including conduction cooling), while the VP11 is a dual slot solution, delivering additional capability.

Both boards provide multimedia functionality with the provision of an AT 2D and 3D graphics engine, capable of supporting resolutions up to SXGA (Super XGA) A screen resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. SXGA is commonly used on standard monitors, but provides a 1.25:1 aspect ratio, compared to the more common 1.33:1 (4:3) ratio. SXGA+ has a 1400x1050 resolution, which is an exact 1.33:1 ratio.
