GE Fanuc Embedded Systems Announces High Performance VMEbus Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor-Based Single Board Computer; 6U VMEbus V5D Demonstrates Commitment to the Life-Cycle of V5 Line.ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- GE Fanuc Embedded Systems GE Fanuc Embedded Systems, a unit of General Electric Company, is headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico with operating locations and regional sales offices throughout the United States and around the world. : --1.4 GHz low voltage Intel Pentium M processor --Pin-compatible with V5C single board computer --VME-32 compliant --Hardware byte-swapping capability Today, GE Fanuc Embedded Systems, a leading provider of embedded computing technology, announces its new 6U VMEbus V5D Single Board Computer (SBC). The Intel Pentium M processor-based V5D uses the 1.4 GHz Pentium M processor LV 738 for improved performance and lower power requirements compared to the V5C SBC. The V5D includes the Intel(R) 855GME GME granulomatous meningoencephalitis. GME Graduate medical education, see there Chipset which provides a 400 MHz Front Side Bus interface and a memory controller with a 64-bit 266 MHz memory interface that services up to 1 GB of DDR SDRAM. It also includes an internal SVGA (Super VGA) A screen resolution of 800x600 pixels. Third-party vendors extended IBM's VGA display standard and were the first to use the term. SVGA has also referred to 1,024x768 resolutions. "SBS Technologies is pleased to announce the V5D SBC, the next generation in our popular V5 product line that started with the V5A. The V5D continues to keep this SBC line updated with the latest technology while maintaining backwards compatibility to the existing product lines to ensure program longevity for our customers," said Wayne McGee, SBC Product Management for GE Fanuc Embedded Systems. The V5D features two USB USB in full Universal Serial Bus Type of serial bus that allows peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, digitizers, data gloves, etc.) to be easily connected to a computer. 2.0 ports and two Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports, and can be configured with up to three optional PMC carrier sites to give the V5D extensive expansion capability. With its ability to perform byte swapping in hardware, the V5D provides better performance over software solutions when data is transferred to and from different processor-based systems. Optional configurations are available for customers who want to use the V5D in industrial applications that require extended temperature operations. The V5D is available with VxWorks(R), Linux(R) or Windows(R) XP support and is RoHS-compliant. Price and Availability: Available now, pricing for the V5D Single Board Computer in OEM quantities starts at US$2,990.
