GE Commercial Finance Names Michael E. Chen as President and CEO of Global Media & Communications.


NORWALK, Conn. -- GE Commercial Finance has named Michael E. Chen to the position of president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of its Global Media & Communications business unit. With over $7 billion in assets, Global Media & Communications represents a one-stop source for the comprehensive range of GE's debt and equity financing services offered to the telecommunications, media, technology (TMT TMT 1 Tarsometatarsal 2 Thermomechanical treatment 3 Treatment, see there ) and entertainment & sports marketplace. Chen succeeds Robert V. Stefanowski, who was recently named president and CEO for GE Commercial Finance - Corporate Financial Services Europe.

Chen most recently held the position of general manager for Global Airports & US Aviation for GE's Aviation Financial Services business (GECAS GECAS General Electric Commercial Aviation Services ). Previously he was managing director, Sales-North America, for GECAS. He joined GE's aviation financing business in 1994 as vice president of Risk Management, North America, and prior to GE was with IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  for nine years working in finance, marketing and product management.
