GE ANNOUNCES SEVEN PERCENT QUARTERLY DIVIDEND INCREASE

 FAIRFIELD, Conn., Nov. 20 ~PRNewswire~ -- GE's board of directors today increased the company's quarterly dividend by $.04 per share or 7 percent to $.63 per share. This increase raises the annualized dividend rate to $2.52 a share from $2.36 a share. During 1992, dividends have been increased by 15 percent on an annualized basis, rising from $2.20 per share to $2.52. Today's increase follows a special $.04 per share increase declared in the third quarter.
 Chairman John F. Welch Jr. said: "While we continue to operate in an uncertain global economy, this dividend increase reflects both the company's success in dealing with this environment and our confidence in its future prospects."
 The dividend declared today is payable Jan. 25, 1993 to share owners of record at the close of business Dec. 7, 1992. The increase is the second in 1992 and marks the 17th consecutive year of dividend increases for GE.
