GDT Promotes Forseth to Senior VP and Bergeron to Director Database Improvement Department.

Forseth was promoted from vice president of operations to senior vice president in recognition of his expanding management role as GDT continues its record growth. In his new role, he will continue to oversee GDT's engineering, data compilation, quality assurance, and information technology activities. He will also play an expanded role in the company's overall management direction and its strategic and long-term planning processes.

Forseth joined GDT in 1992 as manager of testing and software support. He became director of information systems in 1993, and vice president of operations in 1994. Prior to joining GDT, Forseth was founder and president of Active Systems, Inc., a computer engineering and production company. Before that, he was manager of operations for Allen-Bradley Company (Creonics Operation). Forseth holds a master of engineering degree from the Thayer School of Engineering The Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College was founded in 1867 by General Sylvanus Thayer, widely known as the "father of the U.S. Military Academy." Bergeron was promoted from manager to director of GDT's Database Improvement Department in recognition of his superb leadership of the department over the last year. The Database Improvement Department is responsible for the overall creation, management and maintenance of GDT's core databases from which the company creates geographic products ranging from routable street and address networks to telecommunications, postal and census geography. The Database Improvement Department has experienced rapid growth over the last couple of years as GDT has entered new location services See mobile positioning.  markets such as in-car navigation, call center services, and automatic vehicle location See mobile positioning.  (AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) See mobile positioning. ) services. The growth in the Database Improvement Department has also supported GDT's continued expansion into markets such as utilities, telecommunications, and insurance.

In his new role, Bergeron will continue to oversee the Database Improvement Department's collection, compilation, maintenance and quality assurance efforts. He will also join the executive management team and will participate in the company's long-range planning to ensure that GDT maintains its leadership as the only data provider to offer complete and detailed coast-to-coast coverage of U.S. streets and addresses.

Before joining GDT, Bergeron was a regional manager for Johnson & Dix Fuel Corporation where he was responsible for all aspects of the company's regional operations, including resource allocation resource allocation Managed care The constellation of activities and decisions which form the basis for prioritizing health care needs , customer service, budgeting, and marketing.
