GDC's V.34 Modems with Encryption Deliver Secure and Steadfast Triple Protection against Network Intruders.


NAUGATUCK, Conn. -- General DataComm, Inc. (GNRD) announces the addition of encryption The reversible transformation of data from the original (the plaintext) to a difficult-to-interpret format (the ciphertext) as a mechanism for protecting its confidentiality, integrity and sometimes its authenticity. Encryption uses an encryption algorithm and one or more encryption keys.  security features to its family of V.34 modems. GDC's SpectraComm V.34 and InnovX(R) SurePath V.34 modems now provide triple protection against network intrusion.

Two GDC modems optioned for encryption are required (one at each end of the communications link). The GDC modems perform all encrypt/decrypt functions without burdening the customers' applications, and without the need for purchasing additional hardware. Designed to provide the greatest flexibility, a GDC modem optioned for encryption can also be configured con·fig·ure

GDC's modem encryption feature is available now. Customers who already have SpectraComm V.34 and InnovX SurePath V.34 modems in their networks can purchase an encryption upgrade.
