GDA to create land bank.

THE Ghaziabad Ghaziabad (gä`zēäbäd'), city (1991 pop. 511,719), Uttar Pradesh state, N central India. Ghaziabad is an industrial city, with manufactures in railway coaches, diesel engines, electroplating, bicycles, tapestries, glassware, pottery,  Development Authority ( GDA), on Tuesday, announced to create a land bank on priority basis for various residential and commercial schemes along with other utilities.

It said all acquisitions in the future would be carried out through the bank. The authority presently does not have land to undertake any new projects.

It announced this in its board meeting in which 24 proposals were discussed. Of this, seven were passed while the remaining were sent to the government for approval.

It also decided to raise the circle rates of residential properties in line with the hike in administration circle rates. The authority has, however, scrapped the provision of allowing builders to deposit development charges in installment. " The builders will have to deposit the entire development cess at one time," GDA vice chairman Santosh Yadav Santosh Yadav is one of the few women in the world to have climbed Mount Everest twice. She first climbed the peak in May 1992 and then did it again in May 1993.

She was born in 1969 in Rewari District of Haryana state in India and is an officer in Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
