Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown. - A divided City Council has accepted the resignation of City Manager Phil Gatch, who said he was ending his 38-year career at the urging of one of the council members. Assistant City Manager Scott Mitnick will take over as the interim city manager until a successor is found. Gatch, 64, will leave his post May 6.
