) to the Fortune 1,000 U.S. corporations urging them to take whatever steps necessary to ensure that their networks are not being used to infringe copyrighted works. The letter points out that piracy of music, movies and other creative works is taking place at a surprisingly large number of companies. It strongly states that allowing employees to use corporate networks to illegally distribute or store copyrighted music is no different from software piracy.

"GASP now makes it easy to manage these files and activities. The basic functions were already in GASP, we added the bundled reports that allow our users to quickly disclose suspect systems. Other tools on the market just don't have these functions or reports. Our customers can now disclose these infringing activities on their systems, save on broadband fees and enhance the security of their networks," stated Herbert M.Gottlieb, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  and Founder of Attest.

New features in GASP v6.5 include reports that show a complete listing of MP3 files on audited systems as well as identifying the "P2P file sharing" programs used to illegally distribute these files and open corporate networks to outside access. In addition GASP v6.5 has improved software suite recognition and license tracking.

The use of corporate networks to distribute or store pirated music and other copyrighted works subjects companies and their employees to significant legal liability under Federal copyright law. "We're very excited about branching the use of GASP out beyond software compliance. The preliminary response from our user base and worldwide network of Partners, System Integrators and Service Providers indicates that our development team has yet again come through with a superior product," said Gottlieb at a recent Attest Partner Training Session in London.
