GASB publishes implementation guide on statement 44 statistical section.


The Governmental Accounting Governmental accounting is an umbrella term which refers to the various accounting systems used by various public sector entities. In the United States, for instance, there are three levels of government which follow different accounting standards set forth by independent, private  Standard Board has published a Guide to Implementation of GASB GASB Governmental Accounting Standards Board  Statement 44 on the Statistical Section. The guide was prepared by GASB staff primarily to assist preparers and auditors of governmental financial statements and those that advise them as they implement the updated and expanded statistical section. The statistical section is the part of a state or local government's comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR CAFR Comprehensive Annual Financial Report

) that presents trend information for the last 10 years about a government's financial results, major revenue sources, outstanding debt, economic and demographic indicators and operating activities.
